A-Level Law (Distance Learning)

Course Outline

This course is offered via Distance Learning (sometimes known as Video-conferencing).

The style of this is different, in that you have (usually) one lesson each week, in front of a television and a camera. You can see your tutor, and they can see you via the camera and the screen.

You will be set some topics or units to study / research in time for the following lesson. In that subsequent lesson your understanding will be checked and you will receive additional information and guidance to supplement your own study. Any misconceptions you have will also be addressed.

Each week you will also be given an assignment / essay / question to complete which you will then post or email to your tutor for marking.

If you are able to organise yourself effectively to study during your free time, both at school and at home, and can be sufficiently dedicated to ensure that all assignments are handed in on time, then you can be very successful at this course, whose style is likely to be quite different to other courses you have taken so far.

The school provides a link teacher to oversee the scheduling of tutorials, submission of assignments, functioning of equipment and to make sure that students are coping with the work and up-to-date, and to try to resolve any problems.
