Access Course

Why choose the Access course?

The ACCESS course is designed for students who need to acquire a number of level 2 qualifications in a range of established subjects including English, Maths, Science, ICT, Art and COPE. It is aimed at students that may need a number of level 2 qualifications before they can access some vocational courses or apprenticeships and that are unlikely to achieve the entry requirements with their GCSE and Btec results.

Course Outline

The ACCESS course is designed to be taken alone and not in conjunction with any other subjects and the timetable includes the following subjects: English, Maths, Science, ICT, Art and COPE.

Students will have a dedicated member of staff for each subject on their timetable as well as regular monitoring by staff responsible for work experience.

Careers and progression

Students who complete the ACCESS course will be qualified for a number of vocational courses and apprenticeships in various fields, including engineering and health and social care. Students will have guidance in their options for progression during the course
